About Jeremy
Jeremy Akin earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2018 after completing a B.A. in International Affairs at the University of Georgia in 2010. He followed a steady academic path through the University System of Georgia, concentrating on law and international relations before entering the bar. Those years of study laid a foundation in legal research, writing and the kinds of analysis that shape courtroom arguments and settlement talks.
Admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2018, Akin began practicing in Georgia soon after. He maintains an active license and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Over the years he has moved between courtroom work and alternative dispute resolution, gaining experience on both sides of the table. He is based at Johnson Marlowe LLP, where he practices as an attorney and contributes to the firm’s work across civil matters.
Akin holds registrations from the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution as a Neutral Arbitrator and as a Registered Neutral Mediator for general civil cases. Those credentials allow him to serve as a third-party decisionmaker in arbitration and to facilitate settlements in mediation. He has handled mediations and arbitrations that involve routine civil disputes, and he brings procedural familiarity and a methodical approach to those roles.
Within the firm and in professional circles, Akin balances litigation tasks with ADR work. He prepares pleadings and briefs, manages discovery, and appears in hearings where necessary. At the same time he accepts appointments and referrals to mediate or arbitrate when parties seek alternatives to trial. That combination shapes a practice that can shift from aggressive advocacy to measured facilitation depending on the needs of a client or a case.
Clients and colleagues describe Akin as steady and precise in his approach to legal problems. He keeps paperwork and deadlines in order and frames disagreements so they can be evaluated realistically. He continues to maintain his registrations with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and his membership in the State Bar of Georgia. His current practice at Johnson Marlowe LLP centers on civil dispute resolution and related matters.
