About Chris
Chris Fairchild took an atypical route into law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia in 2006, then returned to school for a J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law, graduating in 2013. The combination of a classroom-based undergraduate degree and a later legal education informs how he approaches problems. He often frames issues clearly and lays out options in plain terms.
After law school, Fairchild entered practice in Georgia. Over the years he has built experience across state and federal forums. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and before the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals. On the federal side he is admitted to the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and to the 11th Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle matters at trial and on appeal.
He works at Johnson Marlowe LLP. At the firm he represents clients in proceedings that require appearances in both state appellate courts and federal district and circuit courts. His work includes drafting briefs, arguing motions, and preparing records for appellate review. He has handled matters that move between trial and appellate stages, which gives him perspective on how trial choices affect later review.
Fairchild maintains membership in the State Bar of Georgia. He participates in the bar as a current member and keeps up with continuing legal education requirements. Colleagues describe him as practical in court and thorough on paper. He prefers clarity over jargon. That approach carries through in written pleadings and in oral argument.
Outside of courtroom filings, Fairchild draws on his undergraduate background in education when explaining legal issues to clients. He breaks down complex rules into step-by-step explanations. Clients and co-counsel find that useful when cases present multiple procedural paths. He balances attention to appellate detail with the realities of litigation at the trial level.
In practice today Fairchild is an attorney at Johnson Marlowe LLP who regularly appears in Georgia courts and federal courts where he is admitted. He handles cases that move between trial courts and appellate review and continues to maintain his active membership in the State Bar of Georgia.
