About Christopher T.
Christopher Thomas Craig combines legal training and public policy study with decades spent in private practice and government-related research roles. He earned his law degree from George Mason University School of Law after completing a Master of Public Administration at the Nelson A. Rockefeller School of Public Policy at SUNY Albany. His undergraduate degree is a B.A. from Harpur College at SUNY Binghamton. Those academic steps set the stage for work that has crossed courtrooms and policy offices.
Craig began his early professional life in research and advocacy. In 1988 he worked as a research analyst at the Center for State Policy Research and did lobbying and research for Albers & Company. By the mid-1990s he had moved into law practice. Records show he practiced as an attorney at Herge, Sparks & Christopher, LLP in 1995 and later became a partner at Sparks & Craig, LLP in 2005. In 2012 he joined Cook Craig & Francuzenko, PLLC as a partner, where he continues his practice. The progression shows movement from policy analysis into sustained litigation and firm leadership over several decades.
He is admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. He holds memberships in the Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Fairfax Bar Association. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to several appellate courts, among them the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and the Third and Fourth Circuits. Those credentials enable him to present cases in both trial and appellate settings.
Craig’s career blends courtroom work with earlier policy-oriented roles. The research and lobbying positions he held at the start of his career gave him experience in legislative and administrative contexts. Later firm work has involved partnership responsibilities and litigation practice. He has practiced law through periods of significant change in federal and state procedure, and his admissions across multiple courts reflect that range.
Today he serves as a partner at Cook Craig & Francuzenko, PLLC. He maintains active bar memberships in Virginia and the District of Columbia and regularly appears in federal district and appellate courts where admitted. His current practice concentrates on litigation and appellate work in the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
