About Christopher

Christopher Peng combines a background in economics and language study with a legal education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. He spent time studying Mandarin at Peking University and completed a Mandarin Chinese certification in 2007. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2010, where he worked as a student lawyer in 2008 and served as a teaching assistant in 2009.

Peng began his post-law-school practice in the San Antonio legal community. In 2011 he joined the Gutierrez Law Office as a lawyer, taking on casework and client responsibilities typical of an associate at a small firm. Three years later he opened his own firm, the Law Office of Christopher Peng, and has practiced there since 2014.

His professional memberships reflect steady engagement in local and state legal organizations. He has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 2010. He also holds memberships in the San Antonio Bar Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association, both active since 2011. Outside bar groups, he joined the Alamo Asian Chamber of Commerce in 2014, connecting with business stakeholders in the region.

Those who encounter Peng in court or at community events are likely to note his mix of classroom and practical training. His law school roles as a student lawyer and teaching assistant gave him early experience with client interviews, legal research and courtroom procedures. His time at a small firm exposed him to the day-to-day demands of managing cases. Since opening his own office he has handled intake, client counseling, and case management himself.

His Mandarin Chinese certification is a distinctive element of his background. It informs how he communicates with clients and colleagues who speak Mandarin. It also expands the range of people who can access his services in the San Antonio area.

Peng practices law in Texas through the Law Office of Christopher Peng. He serves clients from that office and maintains active memberships in state and local legal organizations. He now practices from the Law Office of Christopher Peng, providing legal services to clients in Texas.
