About Chris
Chris Castro built his legal path quickly after law school. He entered practice in Texas and has spent the last several years handling criminal matters and trial work in state courts.
He earned a J.D. from St. Mary s University School of Law in 2019. Before law school he completed a B.A. in Government at the University of Texas - Brownsville in 2014. Those years provided classroom training and local connections that would shape his early career choices.
Fresh out of law school, Castro joined the Law Office Of Jesse Hernandez as an associate lawyer in 2019. He handled case preparation, client interviews and court appearances. The role gave him front-line exposure to the rhythm of criminal defense practice in Texas and the demands of trial dockets.
In 2022 he launched The Castro Law Office, PLLC. He serves as founder and lawyer there, running a small firm that takes on misdemeanor and felony matters in state courts. Building a firm meant shifting from the supportive role of associate to managing cases, scheduling, and client relations while still appearing in court on behalf of clients.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. Castro is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He has also been a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association since 2020. Those ties connect him to continuing education opportunities and local peers.
Colleagues describe him as practical in court and methodical in preparation. He handles motions, plea negotiations, evidentiary hearings and jury trials. His work tends to involve the everyday disputes that come before Texas criminal courts rather than appellate scholarship or high-profile federal litigation. That grounding is reflected in the matters his office carries and the calendars he manages.
Castro balances courtroom work with the administrative demands of a small firm. He oversees case strategy, meets clients, drafts filings and attends hearings. The Castro Law Office, PLLC operates out of Texas and represents clients in criminal matters across state courts.
He currently practices criminal defense in Texas and manages The Castro Law Office, PLLC, representing clients in trial and pretrial proceedings.
