Brooke Oliver is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1994. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Oliver is the founder and managing partner of 50 Balmy Law P.C., a law firm located at 50 Balmy Alley in San Francisco, California. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Ms. Oliver earned her Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating with highest honors. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors. During her time at Golden Gate University, she was recognized for her academic excellence and commitment to the legal profession.
Ms. Oliver concentrates her practice in the areas of intellectual property law, including copyrights, trademarks, and art law. She represents individuals and organizations in matters involving the protection and enforcement of creative works, as well as issues related to nonprofit and social entrepreneurship. Her practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including litigation, appeals, negotiations, and trials in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Oliver has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the U.S. Tax Court. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate attorney at various law firms in the San Francisco area, gaining experience in complex intellectual property disputes and transactions.
Ms. Oliver is an active member of the California Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. She has served as co-chair of a national Visual Arts & the Law Conference for twelve years and is recognized as an expert on the Visual Artists' Rights Act. She has lectured on art law in the United States, Mexico, and Rome. Ms. Oliver is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
