About Abel
Abel Edens arrived at law school after four years at UC Berkeley, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 2020. He moved directly into legal study at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, finishing his J.D. in 2023. Those years framed an early trajectory from undergraduate campus life to the demands of a modern law school classroom.
He took a steady route through his studies. At Berkeley he engaged in coursework that emphasized analysis and writing. At UC Law San Francisco he encountered clinics, simulations and doctrinal classes that shaped the early parts of his legal practice. Classrooms and clinics were where he built essentials: research, brief-writing and oral advocacy skills.
After finishing law school, Edens entered practice at Underwood Law Office, P.C. He joined the firm as a lawyer and began applying classroom lessons to client matters. The move from student to working attorney meant long days in the office and in court, and a faster cycle of deadlines and client questions than law school had prepared him for.
His work at Underwood Law Office involves the routine tasks that make litigation and counseling possible. He prepares pleadings, drafts motions and meets with clients to map out options. He also appears in hearings when cases require court time. Those responsibilities combine procedural work and direct client contact, and they form the substance of his day-to-day practice.
Edens is a current member of The State Bar of California and practices under California jurisdiction. That membership allows him to represent clients in courts and administrative bodies in the state. He maintains the professional obligations that come with bar membership and participates in the office’s case management and client intake processes.
