About Meghan

Meghan Pratschler completed her law degree at the University of Dayton in 2018, where she pursued a concentration in intellectual property. Before law school she earned two undergraduate degrees from Miami University of Ohio in 2010: a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a Bachelor of Science in Geology. The combination of arts and science studies helped shape an interdisciplinary approach to legal problems.

Her professional path moved quickly after law school. In 2019 she launched Meghan the Lawyer, LLP as a founding partner, building a practice that blends technology law and creative industries. She added an academic role in 2021, serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. In 2022 she took on in-house and advisory posts, joining Negative One Games, LLC as Chief Legal Officer and accepting an of‑counsel role at International Blockchain Legal, PLLC. Those positions placed her at the intersection of gaming, blockchain and intellectual property law.

Pratschler’s work sits where emerging technology meets intellectual property rights. She has handled matters that require translating technical concepts into legal strategies. That has included advising companies on IP protections and counseling teams in the gaming and blockchain sectors about contractual structures and risk allocation. Her academic training in IP from Dayton underpins that work, and her theater background informs how she frames disputes and negotiates agreements.

As an adjunct professor she taught law students about issues that touch both media and technology. Teaching let her test practical approaches in a classroom and refine them in practice. The mix of classroom and in‑house experience gives her familiarity with both doctrine and the operational questions businesses face day to day.

Meghan is licensed to practice in California and has practiced in roles ranging from firm founder to chief legal officer and outside counsel. Her practice has included client counseling, contract drafting and intellectual property matters, particularly for companies in the gaming and blockchain spaces. She maintains an active private practice through Meghan the Lawyer, LLP while also taking on advisory and in‑house assignments.

Her current work centers on intellectual property, blockchain-related legal issues and legal matters for the gaming industry.
