About Brandon K.

Brandon K. Leavitt earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Utah in 2004 and a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2009. He moved from a communications background into law, carrying an interest in how people and institutions handle difficult personal and legal conversations. His education gave him a foundation in both client-facing skills and legal analysis.

He is admitted to practice in Nevada and Washington. Over the years he has handled a range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and support, division of assets, and post-judgment modifications. He has worked in courtrooms and conference rooms, preparing pleadings and arguing contested hearings, and also settling cases when a negotiated outcome better served a client’s needs.

Leavitt approaches cases in practical terms. He breaks complex financial and parenting disputes into discrete issues. That helps clients weigh options and make decisions under pressure. He balances litigation strategy with settlement talks when required by the situation. His courtroom work includes motion practice and trial preparation, while his out-of-court work often involves negotiation, mediation, and drafting agreements.

He practices at Leavitt Family Law Group. There he represents individuals and families in matters that touch on finances, parenting plans and enforcement of existing court orders. He works with experts when cases raise valuation or forensic questions, and he prepares evidence and testimony when hearings are necessary. Colleagues describe him as detail-oriented in case preparation and persistent in following procedural requirements.

Outside of individual cases, he keeps current on statutory changes and appellate developments that affect family law in Nevada and Washington. He uses that knowledge to advise clients on likely outcomes and timing. His current practice centers on family law matters in Nevada and Washington.
