About Boyd F

Boyd F Campbell moved from reporting to the courtroom over the span of a decade. He earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Alabama in 1972 and followed that with an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University in 1976. After several years in journalism, he returned to school and received his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 1984. The sequence captures a shift from storytelling to advocacy, and it has shaped how he approaches legal work.

Campbell was admitted to practice in Alabama in 1988. That same year he began practicing under the name Boyd F Campbell, LLC. The early years of his career were rooted in private practice, but he also took on in-house responsibilities later on. In 2006 he served as general counsel for the Alabama Center for Foreign Investment, LLC, a role that placed him inside an organization handling business and investment matters tied to international interests. His career path has alternated between the practice of law on behalf of clients and performing counsel duties for an enterprise.

He has been a member of the Alabama State Bar since 1988. He joined the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 1992 and has maintained that membership. Those affiliations reflect the professional circles he moves in and the continuing legal education and networks he has accessed over the years. Colleagues describe him as methodical and communicative; those traits echo a background in journalism as much as legal training.

Campbell’s work history points to two overlapping areas of day-to-day work. One is immigration law, signaled by long-standing membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association. The other is advising businesses on matters tied to foreign investment and corporate operations, a function he performed as general counsel. He tends to approach problems by breaking complex questions into clear, practical steps. He also draws on experience in client counseling and document drafting earned over decades in practice.

Today he operates Boyd F Campbell LLC from Alabama. He continues to hold active membership in the Alabama State Bar and remains engaged with peers through the American Immigration Lawyers Association. His practice currently concentrates on immigration-related matters and business issues connected to foreign investment.
