About Benjamin Logan
Benjamin Logan McGowan is a criminal defense attorney at Summers, Rufolo & Rodgers, P.C. in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He joined the firm in 2012, bringing with him a decade of experience from Massachusetts, New York, and Tennessee. A native of New York City, McGowan earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of the South and New York University.
He graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 2006 — McGowan is admitted to practice in Tennessee, New York, and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. The U.S. Tax Court. In 2022, McGowan was honored by his peers to serve as President of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (TACDL).
He has been a member of TACDL since 2006 and has served on its Executive Committee as Secretary, Treasurer, and President-Elect. McGowan's practice focuses on criminal defense, including state and federal cases, complex civil litigation, Title IX student discipline, criminal victim representation, and abuse registry litigation. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers from 2022 to 2025.
