About Benjamin

Benjamin Kandy took a measured path into law. He attended Oberlin College beginning in 2002 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2006. He then enrolled at Emory University School of Law in 2007 and received his J.D. in 2010. The sequence of degrees and dates frames a straightforward academic trajectory: liberal arts first, then law school.

After law school, Kandy established himself in the legal community in Georgia. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Over the years he has maintained ties to local legal institutions. He is an active participant in the Atlanta Bar Association and in the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division, and he has been involved in bar-related activities dating back to 2010.

Kandy’s work has kept him moving between state and federal work. He represents clients in Georgia courts and appears in matters before the Eleventh Circuit. His courtroom experience covers procedural issues and appellate practice as well as trial-level matters. He handles filings, briefs and oral argument when appeals are in play, and he manages pretrial strategy and hearings at the state level.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and attentive to deadlines. He places emphasis on clear written advocacy. That means drafting focused motions and briefs aimed at the decisive questions in a case. He also values careful case management to keep complex matters on track.

Outside formal appearances, Kandy contributes time to bar programs and professional development. His membership in local and statewide bar groups has kept him connected to continuing legal education opportunities and to younger lawyers entering practice. He has served as a resource in those circles on filing procedures and the mechanics of appellate practice.

Today Kandy practices in Georgia, handling matters that arise in state courts and in federal proceedings before the Eleventh Circuit. He continues to participate in Atlanta’s legal community while representing clients in both trial and appellate settings.
