About Muna H.

Muna H. Claxton built her academic foundation at the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.S. in Human Resource and Management Information Systems in 2001. She stayed tied to issues that sit between people and systems. That background preceded her legal training at Georgia State University College of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2006.

After law school, Claxton relocated her professional life to Georgia. She is licensed to practice in that jurisdiction. Over the years she has applied the analytical habits learned in technology and human resources studies to the work of a practicing attorney.

Her undergraduate studies gave her an unusual combination of perspectives for a lawyer. Courses in human resources exposed her to workplace policy, personnel management and organizational behavior. Coursework in management information systems introduced technical problem solving and attention to systems design. That mix informs how she frames legal questions, particularly those that touch on workplace rules or data-handling processes.

Claxton’s approach to cases is methodical. She breaks complex problems into their parts. She values concrete facts and clear procedures. In client interactions she tends to prioritize practical steps and clear explanations over abstract theory. That style reflects both her legal training and her earlier studies in management systems.

Her career path has included typical responsibilities of private practice: counseling clients, preparing filings, and representing interests in negotiation or dispute resolution. She has worked in settings where legal strategy intersects with organizational needs, and where the management of information matters to the outcome. Colleagues note that she focuses on translating legal requirements into operational terms so clients can act with clarity.

Outside the office she has kept ties to the academic communities that shaped her. She follows developments in employment law and data governance, areas where her academic background gives her additional context. She also mentors newer lawyers from nontraditional undergraduate backgrounds, helping them bridge technical and legal thinking.

As of 2026 Claxton maintains an active practice in Georgia. She handles matters that draw on her combined training in law, human resources and management information systems, applying that perspective to the practical problems her clients bring forward.
