About Bart Max
Bart Max Beier built his legal foundation in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He earned a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University in 1969, then pursued graduate legal study at Duquesne University School of Law, completing an LL.M. in 1972. Those years set the stage for a long career that has kept him practicing in Pennsylvania for more than half a century.
He became a partner at Beier Law in 1974. That title has defined his professional life since then. Over the years he has maintained admissions in Pennsylvania and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has handled matters that required practice at both the state and federal levels.
Colleagues and opponents describe him as steady and deliberate in the courtroom. He moves at a measured pace on procedural issues and on appeals. His work has spanned trial preparation, motion practice and appellate briefing. Cases have ranged across typical civil litigation issues encountered in state courts and in the federal appellate system.
Beier is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He has kept ties to the legal community in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region through those memberships. His presence on local panels and at association events has been a constant for many years.
His practice at Beier Law is built on continuity. The firm has been the central base for his client work since he became partner. He maintains office relationships and supervises long-term matters that require a steady hand over time. That steady presence has suited clients who need ongoing counsel in layered or protracted disputes.
As of 2026, he continues to represent clients out of Beier Law. He handles cases in Pennsylvania courts and appears when necessary before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His current practice focuses on matters arising in Pennsylvania and before the Third Circuit.
