About Jessica M.
Jessica M. Nelson took a conventional path into the law, combining an undergraduate grounding in political science with a professional law degree. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Order of Omega honor society. She continued her studies at Duquesne University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2021.
After completing law school Nelson began practicing in Pennsylvania. She is admitted to the bar in that state and maintains professional memberships that connect her to the legal community there. Those memberships include the State Bar of Pennsylvania and the Allegheny County Bar Association, associations she lists as current.
Her early legal career unfolded in the years following her graduation. She joined SWMW Law and has practiced through that office while building experience in matters that arise under Pennsylvania law. The work she handles at the firm has given her day-to-day exposure to the procedural and substantive issues that shape client matters in the state.
Nelson’s membership in the State Bar of Pennsylvania and the Allegheny County Bar Association keeps her engaged with the profession. Those organizations offer forums for education and networking. She uses those opportunities to stay current on changes in state statutes and court decisions that affect her clients.
Colleagues describe her as steady and practical in the office. She approaches client questions with a focus on clear explanations and concrete next steps. Outside the office she remains connected to the university and law school communities that shaped her early development as an attorney.
She practices from the SWMW Law office and handles legal matters arising under Pennsylvania law. Her current practice centers on serving clients in Pennsylvania through her work at SWMW Law.
