About Ary
Ary Avnet earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from Indiana University Bloomington and later completed his Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. Those degrees frame a decade of practice in Indiana courts and private firms.
He began his post-law school career in a series of associate roles at Indiana firms. Early stops on his resume include Smith & Wade, LLP in 2015 and Scopelitis Garvin Light Hanson & Feary in 2016. He joined Holt Legal Group in 2017 as a lawyer, gaining further courtroom and client-service experience. Over time he moved from those associate positions into roles that mixed direct client work with advisory responsibilities.
Avnet formed Avnet Law and serves as its founding lawyer. He also holds an of counsel position at Metzger Rosta, LLP. Those positions reflect a transition from employee to firm leader and outside counsel, and they allow him to take on a mix of matters and case types appropriate to a smaller practice and to a regional firm that retains outside specialists.
He is admitted to practice in Indiana and maintains memberships in local bar associations. He belongs to the Hamilton County Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association, where he participates in professional activities and local legal community events. Those memberships connect him to the circuit courts and trial calendars that make up much of the state’s day-to-day legal work.
Colleagues describe his path as steady. He built experience through successive roles at established firms and then channeled that experience into his own practice. His background includes litigation and transactional matters handled in private practice environments, alongside consultancy work covered by an of counsel arrangement. That mix gives him familiarity with both solo practice challenges and the collaborative workflow of multi-attorney firms.
In his current practice he divides time between running Avnet Law and providing counsel through Metzger Rosta, LLP. He works on cases and client matters across Indiana, drawing on years spent in and around the state’s legal institutions. He continues to participate in bar association activities and to advise clients through his firm and counsel roles.
He currently practices law through Avnet Law and serves of counsel at Metzger Rosta, LLP, managing client matters in Indiana.
