About Grey
Grey Harris entered law school after completing undergraduate studies at Ball State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and Political Science in 2015. He received his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2020. His legal education was compact and focused, and it set the stage for a quick move into courtroom work.
He began his legal career in public service. In 2020 he served as a deputy prosecutor in the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office. That role put him on a fast track to handling charging decisions, courtroom proceedings and the day-to-day demands of prosecutorial practice. He handled a docket that required managing both investigative material and appearances in court while working alongside experienced trial attorneys.
Within a year he moved into private practice. In 2021 he joined Gilley Dandurand & Summerfield Law Group LLP as a partner. The transition shifted some responsibilities from public prosecution to the broader obligations of firm leadership and client representation. At the firm he has balanced case work with the administrative and collaborative duties that come with partnership in a multi-attorney practice.
Harris is admitted to practice in Indiana and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He maintains memberships in local bar organizations. He is listed with the Hamilton County Bar Association and has held membership in the Madison County Bar Association since 2020. Those affiliations reflect ongoing ties to the trial bar and to the communities where he has worked.
Colleagues describe his approach as straightforward and practical. He has experience standing in courtrooms on both sides of criminal matters, first as a prosecutor and now as a private attorney. That combination informs how he prepares cases and manages hearings. He places an emphasis on courtroom readiness and on practical case management.
Outside the courtroom he has participated in bar events and local legal forums. Those activities have kept him connected to trends in trial practice and to peers across county lines. He remains active in the legal communities where he began his career and where he now works.
Harris practices at Gilley Dandurand & Summerfield Law Group LLP. His current practice centers on criminal matters and litigation.
