About Anthony
Courtroom rhythms shaped an early chapter of Anthony Bittner’s career. He came up through Duquesne University, earning a B.S. in Business Administration before returning to Duquesne for a J.D. His academic path combined business training with legal study, a mix that has informed his approach to litigation and case management.
Bittner began his public-service work in 1981 as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Office of the District Lawyer of Allegheny County. That job placed him in the courthouse day after day and gave him practical trial experience at the start of his legal life. He handled responsibilities typical of a prosecutorial role and learned how to prepare cases for court, examine witnesses and manage evidence under time pressure.
After his time in the district lawyer’s office, Bittner moved into private practice. Over the years he has appeared in state courts across Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has kept active in local and national legal organizations, maintaining memberships in the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association, as well as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Those associations reflect a professional life that spans trial work and service in bar activities. He has participated in association programs and legal continuing education events and has engaged with peers through committee work and local bar programming. Colleagues describe him as experienced in courtroom procedure and familiar with the practical demands of litigating cases at both the trial and appellate levels.
Bittner practices at Joyce & Bittner Lawyers at Law. His office roster and firm affiliation place him in a regional practice that continues to appear in Pennsylvania courts. He keeps an active schedule of hearings and filings and remains involved in the legal community through bar memberships and chapter events.
He currently practices at Joyce & Bittner Lawyers at Law, where he continues to handle courtroom litigation.
