About Trevor

Trevor McKnight earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2020. He completed a law school curriculum that combined doctrinal courses with practical training. Those formative years coincided with major changes in legal practice, and he entered the bar at a moment when remote proceedings and digital filings were becoming routine.

After law school, McKnight pursued bar admission in both the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania. He holds admission in each jurisdiction and has worked on matters that require familiarity with state and local rules. His dual admission allows him to advise clients on procedural nuances that differ between a state system and the federal district that serves the nation’s capital.

Early in his career he built experience in the day-to-day practice of law. He has been active in professional associations and maintains current memberships in bar groups that serve practitioners in his jurisdictions. Those memberships provide ongoing opportunities for continuing legal education and contact with peers who handle a range of matters.

McKnight’s approach is pragmatic. He prioritizes clear communication and does the groundwork that helps clients understand their options. He has handled filings, client counseling, and the research necessary to support decisions in litigation and transactional settings. Colleagues describe him as steady in routine deadlines and careful in written work.

He has worked on matters that touch on regulatory and administrative processes, as well as cases that progress through state or federal courts when disputes require adjudication. His practice requires attention to detail, an ability to track fast-changing schedules, and a readiness to adapt to evolving procedural rules. He has navigated hearings and submissions in both traditional in-person settings and virtual platforms.

In the office he combines legal research and drafting with client-facing tasks. He is comfortable preparing briefing and supporting counsel at hearings. His training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law remains a touchstone; he draws on that foundation when explaining complex legal concepts in accessible terms.

As of 2026, McKnight continues to practice law in the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania. His current practice focuses on serving clients in matters that arise under the laws of the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania.
