About Annie C.
Annie C. Lemelin took a steady path through higher education before entering the practice of law. She earned a B.A. from Colgate University in 2009, completed her J.D. at Tulane University School of Law in 2013 and went on to obtain an LL.M. from McGill University Faculty of Law in 2014. Those steps gave her both U.S. and comparative law perspectives early in her career.
After law school and an advanced law degree, Lemelin began practicing in Louisiana. She is admitted to the Louisiana bar and serves as an associate at Kean Miller LLP. Her role at the firm places her within a team that handles matters arising under state law and in Louisiana’s courts.
Her professional activities extend beyond firm work. Lemelin holds membership in the LADC Trial Academy, a program that centers on courtroom advocacy and trial training. She is also involved with the Institute of Politics at Loyola University, where members engage with issues at the intersection of law, policy and civic life. Those affiliations reflect continued attention to courtroom skills and to the public dimensions of legal practice.
Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She prepares legal filings, supports trial preparation and contributes to courtroom strategy. At Kean Miller she works alongside more senior lawyers on complex matters that require attention to procedural detail and persuasive presentation. Her workday can move quickly from research and drafting to coordinating with clients and preparing witnesses for testimony.
Clients and peers who interact with her encounter a lawyer who values thorough preparation. She draws on her training at Tulane and McGill when weighing legal arguments and evaluating options in litigation. The mix of American and international legal study informs how she analyzes legal problems and frames issues for judges and juries.
Lemelin continues to participate in programs that sharpen trial technique and to engage with civic and policy discussions through the Institute of Politics. She currently practices at Kean Miller LLP in Louisiana, concentrating on trial work and litigation matters.
