About Andrew
Andrew Tank earned his B.S. from James Madison University in 2002 and his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2007. He moved into private practice immediately after law school and has remained in Virginia courts throughout his career.
He began his legal work in 2007 as an associate at Condo Kelly & Byrnes. Three years later he joined The Maddox Law Office as an associate. In 2011 he took a position at Surovell Isaacs & Levy PLC, first as an associate and then, in 2015, as a partner. His title shifted again in 2019 when he joined Livesay & Myers, P.C. as Lead Senior Associate. The sequence shows a steady progression through firm roles and increasing responsibility.
Tank has been active in local and state bar groups. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference since 2009 and served on its Nominations Committee from 2011 to 2012. He also served as Program Chair for the Conference’s Annual Meeting from 2009 to 2012. His work on the Fairfax County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section Board spanned 2010 to 2012. He maintains membership in the James Madison University Alumni Association and the University of Richmond School of Law Alumni Association. He has also been a member of the Arlington County Bar Association since 2009.
Over time Tank’s practice has covered a range of tasks common to private-practice trial lawyers. He has managed client matters from intake through resolution, prepared pleadings and motions, argued before trial courts, and handled settlement discussions. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and practical in his courtroom approach. He has balanced case management duties with firm leadership responsibilities during his time as partner and later as senior associate.
His career shows steady involvement in bar activities and in-practice leadership. He has moved between small and mid-size firms and returned repeatedly to roles that involve mentoring younger lawyers and overseeing case teams. He continues to participate in professional associations that focus on young lawyers and county bar activities.
He currently practices at Livesay & Myers, P.C., where he focuses on client representation and litigation in Virginia state courts.
