About Julia JW
Julia JW Ovando earned her B.A. in Spanish from the College of William and Mary in 2002 and completed her J.D. at George Mason University School of Law in 2008. Her academic background combined language study and legal training. That combination later informed how she communicates with clients and approaches complex files.
After law school she established her practice in Virginia. Ovando has worked in environments that required direct client counsel, case preparation and courtroom appearances. Over time she handled a range of matters in state courts and administrative settings. Her work has involved both negotiated resolutions and contested proceedings.
She later formed Ovando Law PLLC and serves as the principal attorney there. In that role she manages client intake, case strategy and the daily operations of the firm. Building a small firm meant handling both the legal side of matters and the business tasks that keep a practice running. She has said that clarity and responsiveness are important in meeting client needs.
Her academic training in Spanish has been an asset in practice. She speaks Spanish and has used that skill to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients and witnesses. That ability reduces reliance on interpreters and can streamline client interviews and document review.
