About Amanda B

Amanda B. Cook began her legal journey after completing undergraduate studies in fine arts at New York University in 2001. She returned to school for law and earned her J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2012. Those years of study laid the groundwork for a practice that blends courtroom work and dispute resolution.

She entered the bar in 2012 and soon established herself in Montgomery. Early in her career she worked under the name Amanda B. Cook, Counselor at Law LLC. Over time her practice arrangements evolved, and she now maintains an office under the name Cook and Associates, Lawyers at Law LLC. She has been a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association since 2012 and remains active there, attending meetings and participating in the local bar community.

Cook holds recognition as a registered mediator through the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. The credential allows her to serve as a neutral third party in settlement talks as well as to advise clients on alternative dispute resolution options. Her mediation work is paired with courtroom practice. She is admitted to practice in Alabama and has privileges in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, which covers Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Her caseload and professional activities reflect a blend of representation and negotiated outcomes. She has handled matters that required appearances in state court. She also participates in appellate procedures permitted by the Eleventh Circuit admission. Her approach to cases tends toward assessing whether litigation, settlement or mediation best serves a client’s interests, and she brings her mediation credential into those assessments.

Outside of court and mediation rooms, Cook has engaged with peers through county bar programming. That engagement keeps her linked to developments in state practice and local procedure. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing files and attentive to procedural deadlines. Clients have relied on her for guidance through steps that can be unfamiliar and stressful.

She continues to practice from Cook and Associates, Lawyers at Law LLC. Her current work mixes client representation in Alabama courts, appellate matters in the Eleventh Circuit, and serving as a registered mediator for dispute resolution.
