About Allan
Allan Baron trained in New England classrooms before building a practice that crosses law, finance and dispute resolution. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 1972 and took his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1976. Those academic foundations led to a long career in family law and mediation.
Baron began practicing law in the 1980s. By 1988 he was working at The Law Offices of Dalton & Baron. He joined the Massachusetts Bar Association that same year and later added local bar and alumni associations to his professional network. In 1990 he taught as an adjunct professor at the Massachusetts School of Law, a role that kept him engaged with students and the evolving issues affecting family law.
In the mid-2000s Baron shifted part of his practice toward mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He founded Baron Law Mediation in 2005 and later extended that work into a formal partnership at Baron Law & Mediation, LLP. He also pursued specialized training in collaborative law through the Collaborative Divorce Practitioners of Arizona, reflecting an interest in resolving family disputes outside of court.
Baron has experience on the financial side of family disputes as well. He spent time as a financial advisor at UBS Financial Services beginning in 2008. That experience was followed by certification as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst through the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts. The credential equips him to analyze assets, income and tax implications in divorce matters and to explain those issues to clients and other professionals.
His professional memberships trace a steady involvement in organizations relevant to family mediation and the law. He has belonged to the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts since 2008 and the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation since 2005. He is a member of the Suffolk Law Alumni Association and the Lawrence Bar Association, and he has maintained membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association since 1988. During a period living in Arizona he took part in local mediation groups and community organizations, including the Maricopa County Arizona Association of Family Mediators and serving on a seminar committee for the North Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.
Today Baron operates at Baron Law & Mediation, LLP as a lawyer, mediator, collaborative law practitioner and certified divorce financial analyst. He handles family law mediation, collaborative divorce matters and financial analysis in divorce cases.
