About Robert Paul
Robert Paul Luber is a family law attorney admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and qualified to appear before the Federal Circuit. He trained first as a social scientist and then as a business professional before turning to law. His path through three different disciplines gives him a broad view of the issues that often surface in family disputes.
Luber earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and economics from Clark University in 1988. He went on to complete an MBA in business, concentrating in marketing, at Suffolk University in 1998. After a period of time in the business world, he returned to study law and received his J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law in 2014. The sequence of degrees marks a late-career shift into legal practice.
That mix of psychology, economics and business shapes how he approaches cases. He pays attention to the financial calculations that affect property division and support. He also attends to the human dynamics that underlie custody disputes. Those dual concerns—numbers and people—appear repeatedly in his work.
In the practice of family law he handles a range of matters commonly encountered in state family courts. Clients seek his help in divorce proceedings, child custody and visitation matters, spousal and child support issues, property division, and prenuptial or postnuptial agreements. He also works with clients on settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution when those routes are appropriate.
Luber’s admissions to the Massachusetts and New Hampshire bars allow him to represent clients in both states. His qualification to appear before the Federal Circuit is an additional credential, though the bulk of his day-to-day work arises in state family courts. He has experience working with the documentation, valuation questions and procedural demands that family cases produce.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic in the handling of client files. He tends to organize matters around clear financial analysis and straightforward explanations of legal options. That practical approach aims to give clients realistic perspectives on likely outcomes.
He maintains an active practice as a family law lawyer, representing individuals in family court matters across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. His current practice concentrates on family law issues, including divorce, custody, support and related negotiations and litigation.
