About Al J Robert
Al J Robert Jr. combines a technical undergraduate background with a law degree earned at Loyola University New Orleans in 2000. He studied biological engineering at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, receiving his B.S. in 1993. Those two degrees bookend a formative period that set the course for his legal career.
Robert’s early legal work included a clerkship in 2004 at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The clerkship placed him inside the federal courthouse and offered direct exposure to litigation, opinion drafting and court procedures. After his time at the courthouse he spent a year at Schonekas, Winsberg, Evans and McGoey in 2006. In 2007 he opened his own practice, the Law Office of Al J. Robert, Jr., LLC, which listed him as lawyer and founder. That mix of public and private practice gave him experience on both sides of the bench and a foundation for handling matters in state and federal forums.
His admitted jurisdictions include the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the State of Louisiana. Those credentials reflect work in both trial and appellate settings. The record shows steady progression from law clerk to associate work in a New Orleans firm, then to running a solo practice. The timeline also reflects an educational pivot from engineering to law, a combination that can be useful in cases that touch on technical issues or complex factual matrices.
He maintains an office in New Orleans, where he has practiced since opening his firm in 2007. The office serves clients who need representation in Louisiana courts and in the Fifth Circuit. He has spent more than a decade practicing in the New Orleans legal community following his clerkship and early firm experience. That local base supports appearances and filings across the state and in the federal courts that hear appeals from the region.
Across his career, Robert has moved through distinct roles: student, law clerk, associate, and principal of his own firm. Each stage contributed different skills, from legal research and drafting to client counseling and courtroom appearances. He currently practices from his New Orleans office and handles matters in Louisiana and before the Fifth Circuit.
