About Aaron

Aaron Kirkland is an attorney admitted to practice in both Kansas and Missouri. He earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2008 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada–Las Vegas, where he received a B.A. in English Literature in 2004. The combination of a humanities background and a professional law degree shaped a methodical approach to legal writing and analysis.

After law school, Kirkland moved into private practice. He built experience handling a steady stream of matters for individual and business clients. Over the years he sharpened the practical skills lawyers rely on: drafting pleadings, negotiating agreements, and representing clients in court and administrative settings. He has maintained bar memberships in both Kansas and Missouri, and he is listed as a current member of The Kansas Bar.

Kirkland’s legal education and early work placed a premium on clear writing. Colleagues describe his briefs and memoranda as straightforward and tightly argued. That clarity traces back to his undergraduate training in English Literature, where careful reading and concise expression are central. He has applied those habits across transactional work and contested matters.

He practices from offices of Kirkland Woods & Martinsen LLP. There he works alongside a team that handles a range of legal tasks for local and regional clients. His professional associations include active participation in bar activities in Kansas, reflecting an ongoing connection to the legal community in that state.

Outside the office, Kirkland has remained engaged in continuing legal education and local professional events. Those activities have kept him current on procedural developments and evolving case law in the two states where he is licensed. He keeps a low public profile and lets his filings and courtroom appearances speak for his work.

Kirkland’s career follows a steady arc: solid academic training, practical courtroom and transactional experience, and work inside a multi-lawyer firm. He is currently practicing law at Kirkland Woods & Martinsen LLP, serving clients in Kansas and Missouri.
