About Zainab Major
Zainab Major Brown studied law in Atlanta and returned to technical study later in her career. She earned her Juris Doctor from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School in 2013 after beginning that program in 2009. Nearly a decade after law school, she completed a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at Western Governors University in 2022. The two degrees frame a practice that sits at the intersection of law and information security.
Brown launched Major Brown Law, LLC in 2014. She established the firm as a solo practice and has maintained it since then. Early years in practice coincided with growing interest in the legal issues that surround digital data, a development that informed her later studies in cybersecurity and information assurance.
Her professional credentials extend beyond the JD and MS. Brown holds a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) designation and certifications in information security and internetworking from CompTIA. She also carries a Project Management Professional credential from the Project Management Institute. Those qualifications reflect an effort to blend technical literacy with legal reasoning. They shape how she evaluates cases, prepares clients, and assesses risk in technology-related matters.
She is admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit. That admission complements her practice at the state and federal levels. Brown has been active in bar-related community circles as well; she has been a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Lawyers since 2009.
Colleagues and clients describe her approach as practical and detail-oriented. She tends to emphasize process and documentation. In matters that implicate cybersecurity, she draws on her security training to ask technical questions early. That habit often changes how disputes are framed and what evidence is collected.
At Major Brown Law, LLC she handles a mix of legal matters that intersect with technology and business. The work ranges from counseling on information security practices to advising on project management and procurement issues that involve technical vendors. She also represents clients in litigation and administrative proceedings when cases require legal advocacy.
Brown maintains professional memberships and continues to update her technical credentials. She balances courtroom preparation with technical analysis and client counseling. Her current practice combines legal representation with cybersecurity and information security counsel.
