About William D.

William D. Shapiro has been a trial lawyer for more than four decades. He completed his undergraduate and law degrees at California State University, Fullerton and Western State University College of Law, both in 1975. Those credentials began a career rooted in courtroom practice and legal association work.

He entered private practice in the late 1970s and quickly moved into partnership. In 1979 he was a partner at the Law Offices Peach Shapiro & Peach. He opened his own practice as principal in 1983 and continued to try cases through the decades. In 2011 he joined Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis as a partner and trial lawyer. Since 2016 he has been the owner of William D. Shapiro Law, Inc., while also serving of counsel to Robinson Calcagnie Inc.

Shapiro’s admissions include the California bar, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. Supreme Court, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and maintains his membership in the California State Bar. His practice has relied on trial work, arbitration and appellate filings where those admissions are required.

His professional affiliations are extensive and reflect ongoing engagement with trial and historical legal communities. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the National Board of Trial Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Historical and scholarly groups such as the Ninth Circuit Court Historical Society and the United States Supreme Court Historical Society appear on his roster of memberships.

Colleagues describe him as someone who has built a practice around courtroom work and arbitration. He has handled matters that required appearances in federal and state courts as well as before administrative tribunals. He has been active in local legal communities and national trial organizations for many years.

He currently practices through William D. Shapiro Law, Inc., handling trial and arbitration matters and serving as counsel in cases that require experience in federal and state courts.
