About William D.
William D. Nefzger took a conventional academic path into law. He earned a B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1996. Four years later he received his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans in 2000.
His early steps after law school are not listed here. What is on record is his long-term presence in Kentucky courts and federal districts. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky and to the federal courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky.
Nefzger is a partner at Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC. That role places him among the firm’s leadership and in the daily realities of managing client work and supervising litigation. Partners at small and mid-size firms typically divide time between casework, client contact, and firm administration; his title signals a senior role in each of those areas.
He is an active participant in several professional organizations. He holds memberships in the Louisville Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Kentucky Justice Association. Nationally, he has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 2004. He also served as chair of the Louisville Bar Association’s Public Service Committee from 2008 to 2009, a volunteer post that involved organizing committee activity and outreach projects.
Those affiliations indicate sustained engagement with the legal community in Louisville and across Kentucky. Memberships in state bar groups and advocacy organizations create contacts and often shape an attorney’s approach to practice and procedure. His years of continuous membership in the American Association for Justice suggest an ongoing interest in the practical and policy aspects of courtroom advocacy.
Today he works from Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC. He appears in Kentucky state courts and in the federal Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He currently concentrates his practice on representing clients in matters litigated in state and federal court.
