About William D.
William D. Kickham built a career that moves between law, public affairs and local media. He studied economics at Boston College, earning a B.S. in 1980. He then turned to law and received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1985.
His early work placed him inside the corridors of state government. In 1982 he worked as a communications coordinator for the Joint Committee on the Judiciary of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. After law school he served as public affairs counsel for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers beginning in 1985. Those roles combined legal subject matter with communication and advocacy.
The late 1980s and 1990s brought a mix of managerial and media positions. In 1989 he was a regional manager for the Insurance Information Institute. In 1995 he became managing partner of The Law Offices of William D. Kickham, ESQ and Associates. That same year he also took on a media role as host and executive producer for the Comcast Television Network, a position that linked his interest in public communication with community outreach.
Beyond his firm, Kickham has taken on leadership and service roles in the local community. He served on the board of directors for Westwood Community Access Television Corporation from 2007 to 2015. He is also active in civic organizations, holding memberships in the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Association for Justice. He has been involved with the Rotary Club of Westwood and has a Rotary International affiliation starting in 2008 that continues to the present.
On the legal side, Kickham is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the First District of Massachusetts, and the First Circuit. He holds a certification in Massachusetts District Court criminal defense through the Committee for Public Counsel Services of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. That credential indicates courtroom work at the district level.
His resume shows a mix of trial-related organizations, courtroom certification, and public-facing roles in media and nonprofit governance. He has combined private practice leadership with community service in Westwood and professional association participation.
He currently practices through his firm, representing clients in matters in state and federal courts and maintaining certification for criminal defense work in Massachusetts District Court.
