About Whitney

Whitney Harrington built a steady legal career that began after she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Memphis in 1998 and her law degree at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2001. She moved into practice almost immediately, taking positions that exposed her to courtroom work, client counseling and the inner workings of the federal judiciary. Those early years set the tone for a practice that blends litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Harrington’s first professional posts were in private practice. In 2001 she joined Spicer, Flynn & Rudstrom as an associate and the following year worked at the Law Office of Lisa Bowman. She then served as a judicial law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee in 2005, an experience that gave her direct insight into federal procedure and trial preparation. After the clerkship she returned to private firms, joining Oates, Knezevich, Gardenswartz & Kelly, P.C. as an associate in 2007 and later becoming a senior lawyer at Cordell & Cordell, P.C. in 2010.

In 2017 Harrington opened Harrington Law, PLLC and also listed herself as a mediator. The move shifted her role from employee to practice leader. Over time she has woven together roles as advocate and neutral. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Colorado, and she maintains memberships in local and state bar organizations, including the Williamson County Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Since 2015 she has been a member of the Tennessee John Marshall American Inn of Court, an organization that brings judges and lawyers together on issues of ethics, professionalism and practice development.

Colleagues and clients describe Harrington’s work rhythm as practical and procedural. The clerkship and years in firm practice gave her a working knowledge of case management. Her time in a senior role at a national firm exposed her to the complexities of larger caseloads and firm systems. At her own practice she handles intake, case strategy and the mediation process herself, rather than delegating those responsibilities to others.

Harrington’s path shows a mix of courtroom exposure and hands-on practice management. She has spent years moving between public and private roles, accumulating experience across different parts of the system. Her current practice centers on client representation and serving as a mediator.
