About Veronica Sue

Veronica Sue Darling built a regional practice that spans the West Coast. She studied political science at Washington State University, earning her B.A. in 2003. Four years later she completed her J.D. at UCLA School of Law in 2007. Those academic years placed her in two different legal cultures: the Pacific Northwest and Southern California. That background informs how she approaches cross-border issues today.

After law school, Darling established a multi-jurisdictional practice. She is licensed to practice in Oregon, California and Washington. Over time she has handled matters that required attention to the differences among those state systems. Practicing on three state bars has shaped a pragmatic style. She moves between courtroom procedure, regulatory filings and transactional details depending on what a matter requires.

Her career path has included private practice roles and work that placed her in the center of client-facing legal work. Colleagues describe her as someone who homes in on the key legal questions and then explains options plainly. Clients working across state lines benefit from that clarity. She is comfortable translating statutory text and agency rules into actionable advice.

Darling joined Cultiva Law PLLC and is based out of the firm’s office. At Cultiva she works alongside other lawyers who handle a mix of business and regulatory matters. Her colleagues point to her steady handling of multi-jurisdictional logistics, such as coordinating filings, managing discovery deadlines and aligning strategy across state court dockets. She has also managed transitions between state and federal proceedings when cases raise mixed jurisdictional issues.

Outside of casework, she maintains ties to the legal community through professional affiliations. Those connections keep her informed about changes in practice areas and procedural rules across the three states where she is licensed. She often relies on that network when a matter demands local insight or a rapid response in an unfamiliar venue.

Darling’s education and tri-state admissions define the practical contours of her work. She combines an academic grounding in political science and law with hands-on practice across Oregon, California and Washington. She currently focuses her practice on advising clients on legal matters spanning those three states.
