About Tyler D
Tyler D Boyd trained as a communicator before turning to the law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Religion from Bethany College in 2006, followed by a Master of Arts from the University of Louisiana–Monroe in 2008. He completed his legal education at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, earning a J.D. in 2014.
After law school Boyd moved into roles that bridged institutional and corporate work. In 2015 he served as counsel at Houston Baptist University, handling legal matters tied to a higher-education setting. That same year he took on the role of general counsel at Beechnut Street Inc., a position that added corporate and compliance responsibilities to his résumé. Also in 2015 he joined McCormick Boyd, PLLC as a partner and has remained with the firm since.
Those early positions exposed him to a range of transactional and regulatory issues. At the university he dealt with policies, vendor agreements and risk-management questions. As general counsel he handled company governance, contracts and day-to-day corporate legal concerns. In private practice he expanded that work to serve clients in both business and institutional contexts, drawing on experience from his in-house posts.
Boyd is licensed to practice in Texas. His professional memberships are current, and he remains active in the legal community through firm work and association participation. Colleagues describe him as steady in handling complex files and practical when explaining legal options to clients. He balances the procedural demands of litigation support and transactional planning that arise in the firm's matters.
At McCormick Boyd, PLLC Boyd manages client matters that reflect his mixed background. He works from the firm’s offices and represents clients in Texas state matters. His day-to-day practice involves advising on corporate operations, institutional policies and contract matters. He continues to draw on experience from both in-house counsel roles and private practice to serve organizations and business clients.
He is a partner at McCormick Boyd, PLLC, where his current practice concentrates on corporate and institutional legal matters in Texas.
