About Tony
Tony Abbatangelo earned both his bachelor’s degree and his law degree from the University of San Diego. He completed a B.A. there before returning to the same campus for a J.D., where he studied the foundational subjects that guide his courtroom work today. His legal education combined classroom study with the practical demands of law school clinics and moot court, experiences that shaped his approach to client work.
After law school he moved into practice in Nevada. In 2018 he served as a lawyer at The Vegas Lawyers, where he handled matters arising in state court. That role put him in regular contact with prosecutors, judges and clients navigating criminal charges and court procedures. The early years in practice were marked by steady courtroom exposure and routine appearances on preliminary matters and hearings.
Outside the courtroom he has been active in professional circles. He holds current memberships in the Nevada State Bar, the Clark County Bar Association and Nevada Lawyers for Criminal Justice. He has also appeared as a speaker for the NALA Paralegal Association, addressing paralegals and other legal support professionals. Those engagements reflect an interest in practical training and collaboration with the broader legal team that supports litigation work.
His caseload concentrates on criminal defense work in Nevada. He handles the procedural and advocacy tasks that a criminal matter requires, including pretrial motions, hearings and negotiations. He works with clients at all stages of the process, from initial arraignment through disposition. Colleagues describe him as practical in the courtroom and straightforward with clients about likely outcomes and procedural options.
Today he continues to practice law in Nevada, maintaining his memberships in local and state bar groups and speaking to legal support organizations when invited. He practices in Nevada and handles criminal defense matters.
