About Nicholas
Nicholas Pitaro began his legal path in Las Vegas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012 and returned to UNLV for law school, completing his J.D. at the William S. Boyd School of Law in 2017. He came out of law school ready to work in Nevada's courts.
Early in his career he joined public service. In 2019 he served as a Deputy District Lawyer for Nye County. In that role he gained courtroom experience and handled a range of matters that a county office typically addresses. The job required steady legal drafting, daily interaction with judges and staff, and regular appearances before the bench.
After several years in the public sector, Pitaro moved into private practice. In 2023 he became an associate lawyer at Las Vegas Defense Group, LLC. That step brought him back to the metropolitan legal scene and into a firm structure that operates in multiple Nevada communities. Colleagues describe him as someone who adapts to changing courtroom schedules and the demands of a busy practice.
Pitaro's background combines courtroom exposure from a county office with the rhythms of a multi-office private practice. He works on matters that require both written advocacy and time in court. He has handled calendar hearings, drafted motions, and assisted in trial preparation. Those tasks have shaped his approach to cases and client interaction. He is familiar with Nevada procedure and local court culture, having trained and practiced in the state since law school.
Outside of casework, he remains connected to the Las Vegas legal community where he studied and now works. He has maintained professional ties in the region and uses that network to coordinate filings and hearings across county lines. He also manages logistics among offices and clients, balancing appearances in several courthouses.
Pitaro practices in Nevada and splits his time among the firm's Las Vegas, Henderson and Reno offices. He currently practices defense work at Las Vegas Defense Group across its Las Vegas, Henderson and Reno offices.
