About Kate L.
Kate L. Ludwick earned her J.D. from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2018. She previously completed a B.A. in Political Science at Rutgers University in 2009. Those academic steps gave her a foundation in legal reasoning and public affairs; they also shaped the way she approaches problems in practice: careful, evidence-based, and methodical.
After law school she began practicing in Nevada. She is admitted to the Nevada bar and took a role in private practice in 2021. That year she joined Hayes Wakayama Juan as an associate lawyer. The move placed her in a firm environment where she could apply her classroom training to client matters and courtroom work.
At Hayes Wakayama Juan she performs a range of tasks typical for an associate attorney. Her work includes legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery, and assisting at hearings and trials. She also meets with clients to gather facts and explain procedural steps. The role has involved steady collaboration with colleagues and outside experts to develop case strategy.
Ludwick has been a member of the Clark County Bar Association since 2021. That membership connects her to the local legal community and offers access to continuing education and professional resources. Participation in the bar provides opportunities for staying current on Nevada rules and practice developments.
Her background in political science and her law training combine in a practical approach to legal problems. She emphasizes clear analysis and careful writing. Colleagues describe her work as thorough and focused on the legal issues at hand rather than on rhetoric. Those traits inform how she prepares files and presents matters to judges, opposing counsel, and clients.
As she continues at Hayes Wakayama Juan, Ludwick remains based in Nevada and works on cases arising under state law. Her present practice centers on representing clients in matters handled by the firm and supporting trial and pretrial work. She maintains an active role in the Clark County legal community and in the day-to-day practice of law in Nevada.
