About Toby

Toby Kinsler entered law school after completing undergraduate studies and earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2015. He completed the program during a period of rapid change in the legal profession and left with classroom training and practical clinical experience that inform his day-to-day work.

Soon after graduation he established himself in Wisconsin. He is licensed to practice in the state and built his career at Sterling Law Offices, S.C., where he serves as a lawyer. Over the years at Sterling, he has handled a range of state-level matters for individual clients and small organizations. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and careful in client meetings.

Kinsler’s professional path has been straightforward. He moved from law school into practice and into the firm where he remains. That continuity has allowed him to develop procedural know-how and a practical sense of how cases progress through Wisconsin courts. He has worked on filings, client counseling, negotiations and hearings, often managing cases from intake through resolution.

He maintains current memberships in professional organizations that keep him connected to developments in Wisconsin law and local practice. Those ties provide ongoing access to continuing legal education and peer networks. He also participates in firm-level mentoring and case strategy discussions, contributing to a collaborative workplace.

Outside of court appearances, Kinsler spends time preparing written work product that includes pleadings, client advisories and transactional documents. He places emphasis on clear communication with clients. That shows up in how he explains legal steps and options, and in the practical plans he lays out for resolving disputes or moving matters forward.

Kinsler’s experience is grounded in the practice rhythms of a Wisconsin law firm. He draws on his Marquette education, office experience and professional contacts when advising clients. He is known around the office for careful file preparation and for taking time to outline likely timelines and potential outcomes.

He is currently continuing his work at Sterling Law Offices, S.C., representing clients in matters under Wisconsin law. His practice focuses on representing clients in Wisconsin courts and advising individuals and small businesses on legal matters.
