About Timothy John
Timothy John Tobin earned his law degree from New England Law | Boston in 2009 after completing undergraduate studies in communication at Stonehill College in 2005. He arrived in the legal profession equipped with classroom training and an early interest in practice across state lines. Those academic years set a chronological foundation for a career that has moved between private practice and public service.
He began practicing under the Tobin Law Office banner in Hawaii in 2009. That early period in private practice was followed by a shift into public service. In 2012 he joined the County of Kauai Prosecutor’s Office as a Deputy County Lawyer. There he worked on prosecutorial matters for the county, gaining courtroom experience and exposure to the operations of local government litigation.
After several years in Kauai, Tobin returned to the Tobin Law Office and expanded the firm’s geographic reach. By 2014 he had established an Arizona office under the same firm name. That move represents a transition from local public work back into private practice, this time managing a presence in two distinct state jurisdictions. His career path shows repeated movement between courtroom roles and law office management.
Tobin holds bar membership in Hawaii dating to 2009 and has been a member of the bar in Arizona since 2014. Those admissions allow him to appear and practice in both states. He maintains standing in the Hawaii State Bar Association and holds current membership stretching back to his initial admission. The cross-jurisdictional licenses inform the work he takes on and the courtroom rules he follows.
Colleagues describe him as someone who blends trial experience with the everyday tasks of running a small firm. His time in a prosecutor’s office gave him direct exposure to case preparation, evidence handling and courtroom procedure. Returning to private practice required attention to client intake, file management and the operational demands of maintaining offices in multiple locations. Those dual perspectives shape the services his firm offers.
He currently practices through Tobin Law Office, operating offices in both Hawaii and Arizona. He handles matters in both jurisdictions and continues to serve clients through those two office locations.
