About Timothy Andrew
Timothy Andrew Mott is an attorney who built his legal foundations at UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2012. He was active on the Nevada Law Journal Executive Board in 2012, a role that put him in the thick of legal research and editorial work while he finished law school. Those years showed an early preference for detailed legal writing and case analysis.
After graduation, Mott moved into private practice and joined Valiente Mott Injury Lawyers. He has worked across the firm’s offices and settled into a practice concentrated on injury matters. His cases involve the sorts of factual and procedural work that define civil litigation: evidence gathering, depositions, motions practice and negotiation. He applies the skills from his journal work to case development and to preparing legal arguments for court filings.
Mott is licensed to practice in Utah, Nevada and Washington. That multi-jurisdictional admission lets him handle claims and litigation in several state systems, and it shapes how he prepares cases. He appears in state courts and coordinates with co-counsel when matters touch more than one jurisdiction.
Professional life for Mott includes active membership in bar and trial groups. He has been a member of the Nevada Justice Association since 2018. He also maintains other professional memberships that trace back to 2012, 2013 and 2016, reflecting sustained engagement with the legal community. His participation in these organizations has involved attending continuing education programs and contributing to discussions on trial practice and court procedure.
Clients and lawyers who work with Mott describe him as methodical and direct. He breaks complex liability issues into manageable parts. He prepares for hearings with a focus on the facts and the controlling law. His courtroom appearances are informed by preparation and an attention to documentary proof.
Outside the office, Mott’s law journal experience continues to influence how he writes and how he reviews case law. He is comfortable drafting pleadings and appellate briefs, and he emphasizes clarity over rhetorical flourish. That approach guides his trial work as well as settlement talks.
He currently practices personal injury law at Valiente Mott Injury Lawyers.
