About Thomas William
Thomas William Sheridan earned his law degree from Temple University. He moved from classroom to courtroom early in his career and built a practice rooted in civil litigation. His legal education at Temple provided the foundation for courtroom work and client advocacy.
After law school Sheridan entered private practice and established himself in the Philadelphia legal community. He became a partner at Sheridan & Murray in 1998. Over the years he has handled a steady docket of personal injury cases and civil litigation matters in the region.
Sheridan is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has tried cases in state courts and handled negotiations that resulted in settlements for clients who were injured or otherwise harmed. His courtroom experience includes bench hearings, jury trials and pretrial motion work on behalf of plaintiffs.
He has taken on organizational leadership as well. Sheridan served as president of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association from 2019 to 2020. That role placed him in regular contact with other trial lawyers, judges and local bar leaders and involved organizing educational programs and member activities during his term.
Colleagues describe Sheridan as methodical in preparation and direct in the courtroom. He approaches cases by examining the facts closely, developing a theory of the case and testing it through depositions and motion practice. He works with experts when technical or medical evidence is central to a claim, and he weighs settlement offers against likely trial outcomes.
Today Sheridan remains active in plaintiff-side civil litigation through his role at Sheridan & Murray. He continues to represent clients in personal injury matters and other civil disputes, taking cases through investigation, trial and resolution. He currently practices personal injury and civil litigation at Sheridan & Murray, representing plaintiffs in court and in negotiated settlements.
