About Thomas Gill
Thomas Gill Jr earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in 1985 and completed his Juris Doctor at Stetson University College of Law in 1988. He finished law school at a time when Florida’s legal landscape was changing, and he moved quickly into practice after graduation. Those early years set the direction of a long career in the state.
He is admitted to practice in Florida. After earning his J.D., he entered private practice and three years later became a founding lawyer of Barnett | Gill in 1991. That decision shaped the rest of his professional life. Over the decades that followed he remained associated with the firm as it evolved and handled an array of matters on behalf of clients in the state.
Since 1988 he has practiced law for more than three decades. During that time he has maintained memberships in professional organizations and stayed involved in the legal community. His experience spans firm management and client representation, and he has been a steady presence at Barnett | Gill since helping to establish the practice early in his career.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in approach. He combines courtroom perspective with the day-to-day demands of running a law practice. Cases and clients change, he has said in interviews, but the basics of preparing a matter and serving a client remain the same. That approach has guided his work at Barnett | Gill for years.
He continues to practice at Barnett | Gill and represents clients across Florida. His current practice focuses on serving the legal needs of those clients through the firm’s offices, handling a broad range of matters in the state.
