About Thomas C.
Thomas C. Nagel earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia in 1988 and completed his Juris Doctor at Georgia State University College of Law in 1991. He finished law school at a time when many new attorneys went straight into firms or government work. Nagel chose criminal defense early and began building courtroom experience right away.
His first listed role after law school was as a criminal defense lawyer at King, King & Jones in 1991. He spent the early years of his career handling criminal matters there. Two years later he opened his own practice. Since 1993 he has practiced under the name Thomas C. Nagel, Lawyer at Law.
Nagel is admitted to practice in Georgia and in several of the state’s higher courts. His admissions include the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in state trial courts, on appeal, and in federal district court proceedings.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations that align with his work. Those include the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Cobb County Bar Association, and the Georgia State Bar. His participation in local and statewide bar groups keeps him connected to developments in criminal law and procedure across the region.
Over the course of his career Nagel has concentrated on criminal defense matters. He handles cases at trial and takes cases on appeal in Georgia’s appellate courts. His practice record shows a steady focus on courtroom work and on appeals where statutory and constitutional questions arise. He represents individuals facing a range of criminal charges and navigates both state and federal processes as needed.
Nagel operates his solo practice under the name Thomas C. Nagel, Lawyer at Law and continues to accept criminal defense matters. He now practices criminal defense in state and federal courts and handles appeals before Georgia's appellate courts.
