About Thomas Bo Frith
Thomas Bo Frith IV built his legal foundation at Washington & Lee University, where he completed both undergraduate studies and earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He arrived in practice with the classical training that the school emphasizes: close attention to procedure and an apprenticeship approach to courtroom work.
Early in his career he worked on Capitol Hill. In 2010 he served as a legislative correspondent for U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner. That job gave him exposure to federal issues, constituent work and the mechanics of legislative correspondence. He later turned to the bench-side view of litigation, clerking for the Arlington Circuit Court in 2015. The clerkship offered him direct experience with courtroom procedure and the day-to-day pace of state-court dockets.
Following the clerkship he joined Wilson Elser as an associate in 2016. There he handled matters in a firm environment and learned the demands of client representation in a larger practice setting. Those years added practical trial preparation, brief writing and motion practice to his skill set.
Frith is active in the legal community. He holds memberships in the Roanoke Bar Association, the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia State Bar. He participates in local and statewide bar activities and in Inn programs that bring judges and lawyers together to discuss ethics and advocacy.
He is based in Virginia and has maintained practice and bar credentials there. His path from legislative staff to court clerk to firm associate maps to a steady movement toward courtroom practice. Colleagues note that his background gives him an understanding of the practical pressures both inside and outside the courtroom.
Frith practices at Frith Ellerman & Davis, where he works alongside other lawyers from the region. He handles matters that arise in Virginia courts and appears before judges in the commonwealth. His litigation background, combined with legislative and clerkship experience, informs his approach to case strategy and client communication.
Today he continues to serve clients in Virginia state courts. His practice centers on representing clients in litigation matters in Virginia state courts.
