About Theodore
Theodore Theofrastous earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1999. While at Case Western he studied international law and intellectual property. He completed his undergraduate work at Marlboro College, receiving a B.A. in history and economics in 1994. Those academic choices shaped the early contours of his legal interests.
After law school, he established his practice in Ohio. Over the years he has worked on matters that touch both cross-border legal questions and intellectual property issues. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and has built a practice that reflects the combined influences of his legal training and liberal arts background.
His work often involves translating complex legal concepts into clear positions for clients. He handles transactional and advisory matters that require attention to statutory detail and contractual structure. When international elements appear, he draws on his law school study of international law to identify relevant regulatory frameworks and dispute risks. Intellectual property matters have been a recurring thread, especially those that intersect with business concerns rather than technical patent prosecution alone.
Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He breaks large problems into discrete legal questions and then addresses them in sequence. That steadiness suits the types of assignments he accepts at his firm. He prefers clear lines of responsibility and practical solutions that clients can implement without unnecessary delay.
At Kohrman, Jackson & Krantz, LLP he practices alongside lawyers who handle a range of corporate, litigation and regulatory matters. His role there centers on advising clients about contracts, licensing arrangements and the legal implications of cross-border transactions. He also advises on disputes that arise from commercial dealings where intellectual property or international components are implicated.
Outside of client work he remains engaged with the evolving legal issues that affect trade and IP. He follows developments in comparative law and in the statutes that govern licensing and cross-border commerce. This ongoing attention helps him identify contractual language and risk-allocation strategies that match client priorities.
He currently practices at Kohrman, Jackson & Krantz, LLP, where his practice focuses on international and intellectual property matters for clients operating in Ohio and beyond.
