About T. Augustus
T. Augustus Claus trained on the West Coast. He attended Oregon State University for his undergraduate studies and went on to earn his law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School. Those years shaped his route into criminal law and provided connections to courts and practitioners across the region.
He began practicing as a criminal defense lawyer in 2005 at the ATAC Law Office. A year later he launched his own practice. In 2006 he became the owner of ATAC Law LLC, the firm he continues to operate. He is licensed to practice in Nevada and is a member of the State Bar of Nevada.
Claus has taken part in professional organizations that reflect his practice area. He holds membership in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also served as president of Nevada Lawyers for Criminal Justice from 2017 to 2018. Those roles placed him among colleagues who handle criminal matters across the state and beyond.
Over the course of his career he has worked on criminal defense matters in Nevada courts. His practice has involved the stages common to criminal cases, including pretrial motions and court hearings. He represents individuals at various points in the process and engages with the procedural and evidentiary issues that arise in contested cases. He maintains an active calendar and manages the business demands of a small, privately held firm.
Colleagues describe Claus as a lawyer who has built a steady local practice. He moved from an associate-style role into firm ownership early in his career and has overseen operations at ATAC Law LLC since 2006. That continuity has allowed him to maintain relationships with local court staff, opposing counsel and clients over time. He continues to practice criminal defense at ATAC LAW, LLC.
