Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ms. Petro has been serving clients in New Jersey since her admission to the bar in 1984, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder access to justice for her clients. In 1981, Ms. Petro earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, a pivotal step that laid the foundation for her legal career. She continued her education at Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, where she received her Juris Doctor in 1984.
Her academic background gave her a strong understanding of the law, which she has applied throughout her extensive career. At Petro Cohen, P.C., she focuses on personal injury litigation, handling a variety of cases including automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents, and wrongful death claims. Throughout her career, Ms. Petro has been actively involved in various professional organizations. From 1998 to 1999, she served as the President of the Atlantic County Bar Association, a role that allowed her to influence the legal community in significant ways. She has been a member of this association since 1987, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to the legal profession. Additionally, she contributed to the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law from 2000 to 2008, helping to shape the standards for legal practice in the state.
