About Steven L.
Steven L. Rubin practices law across New York, Florida and Connecticut. He has built a practice centered on the legal needs of older adults and their families. Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who combines courtroom comfort with the day-to-day work of drafting plans and advising caregivers.
Rubin is licensed in three states and holds memberships in each state's bar association: the New York State Bar, The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Connecticut. He also has recognition from the National Elder Law Foundation as a Certified Elder Law Lawyer. That credential signals specialized training and testing in matters that affect seniors, including planning for long-term care and related public benefits.
His career mixes private practice with professional association activity. He takes cases that involve estate planning, Medicaid planning, incapacity planning and conservatorship matters. In some matters he drafts wills and trusts. In others he helps families address the practical problems that come with aging, such as qualifying for long-term care and arranging for the legal authority someone needs to manage finances or health care.
Rubin’s peers have elected him to leadership roles in the elder law community. He serves as President Elect of the Connecticut chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (CTNAELA). He also remains active in national and state bar groups, often attending continuing legal education programs and participating in committees that shape practice standards. Those roles keep him in regular contact with developments in Medicaid law, veterans benefits and trust administration.
He practices from Drazen Rubin Law, LLC. There he handles client intake, counsels families and appears in administrative and probate proceedings when necessary. The office serves clients who live independently as well as those in assisted living and nursing facilities. Rubin coordinates with financial advisors, care managers and health professionals when cases call for multidisciplinary planning.
Outside the office, Rubin’s practice priorities are practical. He aims to give clients documents and strategies they can use the next day. He tries to make complex rules understandable and to set out clear choices for people facing difficult decisions about care and finances. He currently practices elder law, estate planning and related areas at Drazen Rubin Law, LLC.
