About Charles L.
Charles L. Kurmay built his legal foundation at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. He went on to receive his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1996. Those years set the terms for a private practice he would open shortly thereafter.
In 1997 he established the Law Offices of Charles Kurmay. He has run the firm since its founding. The office grew to serve clients in both Connecticut and New York, and the practice has maintained a presence beyond U.S. shores through a European office.
Kurmay is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. He also holds admissions to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and lists the International Criminal Court among his affiliations. Those credentials allow him to appear in a range of trial and appellate settings.
Over the years his work has spanned matters brought in state courts and federal tribunals. He represents individuals and organizations in proceedings that require both courtroom presence and written advocacy. He also oversees matters that have cross-border elements, a function supported by the firm’s European office and by his international court membership.
The firm maintains offices in Milford and South Norwalk, Connecticut, and in Manhattan, New York. That geographic spread lets him accept cases that originate in different jurisdictions and coordinate filings and appearances across state lines and in federal court. The European office supports work that touches on international or transnational issues.
Kurmay holds current memberships in the New York State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the International Criminal Court. He participates in professional activities tied to those admissions and uses them to arrange representation where clients require appearances at different levels of the judiciary.
He continues to run the Law Offices of Charles Kurmay from the firm’s Connecticut and New York locations and handles matters in state, federal and international forums. His current practice focuses on representing clients in proceedings across those jurisdictions.
