About Steven

Steven Goldman earned a B.S. in Business Management from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2005 and a J.D. from Albany Law School in 2008. He completed his legal training as the mid-2000s gave way to a busy early career. Those formative years set the groundwork for multiple admissions across the region. He is licensed to practice in New York, the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland.

Goldman began his post-law school career in private practice and quickly moved through several roles. He joined the Law Offices of Sari M. Friedman, P.C. as an associate in 2010. A year later he served of counsel at Joseph Law Group, P.C. By 2014 he became a partner at Curran Moher Weis, P.C. His time in each position included courtroom assignments, client counseling and negotiated settlements. Those varied experiences shaped the way he approaches dispute resolution and client work.

Over the past decade Goldman has concentrated much of his work on collaborative practice and related dispute-resolution methods. He holds a Collaborative Professional certification from the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He is a member of the International Academy and the Virginia Association of Collaborative Professionals, both since 2015. He also serves as chair of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia, a role he has held since 2015. These affiliations reflect a steady engagement with nonlitigated and negotiated solutions.

In addition to collaborative networks, Goldman maintains memberships in traditional bar associations. He joined the New York State Bar in 2008 and the D.C. Bar in 2012. That combination of bar memberships supports a practice that crosses state lines and regulatory boundaries. Colleagues note that his work spans intake and initial case design through settlement and post-agreement implementation.

Goldman practices from Curran Moher Weis, P.C., and maintains a satellite office in Old Town, Alexandria. His day-to-day work mixes client meetings, collaborative sessions and court filings when litigation becomes necessary. He balances courtroom readiness with a preference for negotiated outcomes. He currently focuses his practice on collaborative dispute resolution and related family and civil matters handled through negotiated processes.
